Happy post-memorial day weekend to all. More non-life changing information is presented below for you enjoyment (or to take up time while you're sitting on the porcelain god and/or at work....which may or may not be the same thing).
My quick thoughts on the conference finals that are currently going on:
WEST
In a vacuum (what does that mean??) I would take the Spurs over the Thunder in 6. The Thunder "need" a consistent inside scoring presence when going against teams that have a good defensive scheme. The Spurs appear to be the most balanced and poised team left in the playoffs. It wouldn't surprise me if they won the title this year. Although, it WOULD cause me to start taking shots of gasoline until I pass out. I respect them, but still can not stand the thought of seeing Timmy hoist the trophy yet again.
EAST
In a vacuum...phonebooth...broom closet...port-o-potty...you name it...I'll take the Heat in 5. I won't say the Heat are better without Bosh, but not worrying about having to get him involved allows the Lebron/Wade to play with each other (pause)...make that...play off each other more freely. The supporting cast won't interfere with that since their contribution is monitored quarter to quarter. Hit a few shots, you may be involved in the game plan going forward. Miss a few shots, you may be involved in celebrating dunks, keeping the gatorade topped off and practicing overly elaborate handshakes during timeouts - from the bench.
I do hope at some point KG talks himself into committing a flagrant foul on Lebron or Wade. I would love to see if Pittman would revisit the move seen below that he pulled out against Indiana. (For the record, that is one of the top 3 dirtiest elbows I've ever seen in a game)
Now, let's rewind for a second. I never got around to posting as soon as it happened, but can someone explain to me why Bieber and Triple H accompanied Mayweather to the ring during his last fight. I imagine Triple H was there in case any fake fighting broke out. At the 1 min. mark I noticed Triple H looking injury free. In the "wrestling world" he had his arm broken only a few days prior to this fight. Shame on you Triple H.
After seeing Triple H walk around as though he was perfectly ok....I wondered what this gentleman would think if he ran across this footage!
I think it goes without saying that "it" should have stopped being real to him at LEAST 25 years ago.
I leave you with this until next time my friends. When life hands you an obstacle. Get a trampoline and jump over it. If you fall flat on your face...well, just hope it wasn't recorded and put on youtube with "I believe I can fly" playing in the background.
In the west I'm going to stick with what I said about the spurs. Their this year champions unless OKC does a laker move and sweep the spurs on the back end after being up 2-0. If OKC goes down 3-0 tonight I will say spurs sweep them. In the east after watching game 2 I'm going to say series is over and might be a sweep as well "with assistance from the refs" they're calling ticky tac calls. The celtics should start giving Charles Oakley and Dennis Rodman type fouls from here on out. Now I wouldn't have thought I would ever see 3H hanging with Mayweather, as far as the broken arm we all know its staged even do it did look like brock broke it. I wonder what vince said when he saw or heard 3H was out with "Money". No comment about Beiber. I have a 50+ yr old family member who watches wrestling and still think it real but, you can't tell him that and gets mad when I said its staged and stroms off like a child. They knew that they need a bigger trampoline for that guy. They set him up for failure but I still laugh every time I watch
