Quick Reaction

Greetings and salutations once again. I wanted to put up a quick post about the NBA playoffs but I had some very important things to tend to and it was delayed until after Game 1 of each series kept going to sleep for the past week every chance I got. Nevertheless, let's take a Hollywood look at each of the series.

The Act of Valor Series - These are the games you just watch to see your favorite players do their thing and know there will be an abundance of highlights. There is not gripping story line or anything of substance. In other words, no game in these series will be an instant classic.

(2) Miami v. (7) New York New York has sold pipe dreams all year. Miami has the dogs to limit Carmelo offensively and Jeremy Lin is not walking through that door anytime soon....even if he does, it won't matter. Heat win in 5

(3) LA Lakers v. (6) Denver
Can you name me the Nuggets starting 5? 3? Coach? I can't and I don't feel the need to look it up either. Lakers in a sweep (That's 4 for you slow people)

The Limitless Series
- The games that I can't really explain. These could go either way and I have talked myself into picking each team to win the series. The slightest change or tweak could be series altering. I wouldn't bet on these with your money...if gambling where legal.

(1) Chicago v. (8) Philadelphia
This would have been an Act of Valor category recipient until D. Rose's ACL decided it was done supporting his knee. The Bulls defense still should be enough to pull out this series but the Bulls' team looked like they had all be diagnosed with "the clap" when Rose went down. With that said....I THINK I'll take the Bulls in 6

(3) Indiana v. (6) Orlando
I heard an announcer state "Ryan Anderson must be the go to man with Howard sidelined". That alone is enough to make me Take the Pacers. Indiana in 6

(4) Memphis v. (5) LA Clippers
Full disclosure, Memphis is my pick to win the Western Conference Finals. After last nights meltdown in the 4th quarter...I reserve the right to go back to OKC if they fall apart. They SHOULD be able to rebound...especially with Blake playing as though he's a deer caught in the headlights (of a KIA...sorry, had to). Memphis in 7

The Avengers Series - These games (on paper) have the appearance to be classic series. It'd be hard to live up to the hype so sometimes it's best to just live off of the pre-series montages of what WILL be.

(4) Boston v. (5) Atlanta
I don't have either of these teams making too much noise long term but the Celtics may be running on fumes. They don't have the luxury of falling behind in games anymore and their defense doesn't match up well with the younger legs of the Hawks. Hawks in 6

(2) OKC v. (7) Dallas
OKC seems to be a consensus pick to get to the finals this year and matched up against last year's champ. After game 1, it seems Dirk is poised to let everybody know not to forget about the diggler! If they can steal game 2 in OKC, this may turn into a long series for the Thunder who i think will still eventually win. OKC in 6

The Think Like a Man Series
- This is more so for the Spurs who get their own category. The team that everybody who's a fan says is good, but I wouldn't know because I refuse to watch.

(1) San Antonio v. (8) Utah I have nothing of any substance to add other than I couldn't pick out a single Utah Jazz player in a lineup even if you gave me a pack of trading cards with Jazz players only. Spurs in 4

  1. (response to Courtney's comment that disappeared) I think the Knick's cancer has more to do with Amare and Carmelo not being able to play well. Both need the ball alot to put up their typical numbers. They don't play well with each other. I wouldn't be surprised if they looked to unload Amare in the offseason.

    1. I don't know what happen to the post yesterday but anyway. The knicks are stuck with Amare for the next 2-3 years because nobody is going to pick up his salary. Somebody might take him on the last year of his contract. Amare and melo are they same type players like labron and wade. Melo is a cancer dude. He's the number one scorer in the league in my opinion just a hair better than Laborn. Back to the cancer point look at how well denver is playing since melo left and george carl looks better as well melo had a good players around him just like in NY and yet they're only a .500 club. When melo was out the knicks were playing good ball just no d and they were winning when he returned what happen back to .500. The knicks are a good enough to make the playoffs minus melo. Now take melo away from the knicks and add james eastern champs if not league champs james make players around him better melo doesn't.

  2. I thought ny would have been able to challenge the heat and but I was wrong. The knicks have a nice roster to make the playoffs every year but as long as they have the cancer Melo they will NEVER win a title. Ty Lawson, Nene, & coach Carl is all I can name. Giving that bynum is beasting right now the lakers will sweep the series. The bulls d is enough to get them passed the sixers but that's about it. Now I can't name no ONE player in the sixers roster. With out Dwight the magic has no shot but after game 1 I'm not sure if its a fluck or night but only time will tell. Pacers in 6 tho. Don't go back on your word now. I still say griz wn the series in 6 but get bounce by lakers or spurs (spurs is my favorite to win it all). I say the griz come out more focused tonight and aviod another meltdown. The dinosaurs of the nba will meet the heat in the finals enough said. Dallas should be up 2-0 instead of down 2. I say this series will go to 7 hard to say who will win these battle but it will come down to the wire. No need for me to make a comment about the spurs cuz like I said their going to win it all this year. Next season it will be heat and thunder, bulls and thunder, or heat and lakers
