Finals-ly Here

It's that time of the year where the countdown to absolutely nothing but baseball is on in the sports world.  And yes, I'm 100% acting as though the WNBA is not a real sport.  I think I may end up writing about reality tv or cross stitching to pass the time...but, that decision can be put on the back burner until the NBA finals are over.

It seems the talk on the street is Lebron vs. Durant.  This is probably be the most desired match-up one could hope for aside from Lebron/Kobe.  My only issue with the Lebron vs. Durant argument  is that there shouldn't be one.  Unless we're picking who can change clothes in a phone booth the quickest, Lebron is the best all-around player in the NBA today and it's not debatable.  LBJ has played all 5 positions during the playoffs and has pulled off stats that only Wilt "I never met snatch I didn't like" Chamberlain and Magic Johnson (same joke) have accomplished.  MVP of the league and all NBA 1st team defense vs. the reigning scoring champ...I'll take Lebron every time.

With that said, OKC are the clear favorites.  They are healthier, played less games and at home.  I can see Miami winning if Wade shows up before halftime, Bosh stretches the defense and Lebron limits Durant's scoring.  Unfortunately, that's a lot that has to happen and easier said than done.  The progression theory lends itself to saying Miami should win.  OKC has improved by 1 round each of the past couple of years which would have them on schedule to win a title next year.  Seven game series generally work out to the better team winning especially when juxtaposed to that of a single game championship.  I won't be making any predictions....but I will be rooting for a ring for the king.  I would hate to see him go down in history like Barkley/Ewing/Malone.

Quick vid - I thought this was a hoax the first 8 times  I watched it.  I've found out its 100% real...she was ok...and no, that is not a t-shirt flapping.  Take a look

  1. I feel you the end of the sports world after the finals. I will use that time to watch movies that I burned back during fb season and, my xbox will be getting an extra workout on the weekends I'm not out and about also, get my skills back up on guitar hero. WNBA what's that? I don't have a horse in the race my main stud (hornets) never made it out the barn and my second stud (spurs) was a fake contender. LBJ owns the league no need to futher discuss. I do want him to win a ring but he would have to win at least 3 before folks stop riding him. KD might be the best pure shooter in the league that's if Melo doesn't have a say so. The "glove", "reign man" & "grand ma ma" are so other HOF players who never got a ring as well. Granny likes living on the edge. I watched it a few times as well they force her out and almost lost her. Thank God she was secured to him otherwise.....

  2. Let's not start throwing around Hall of fame credentials so easily. Kemp is borderline and Larry Johnson is NOT even close to the hall of fame unless the voters over value his college career. The Glove got his ring with Miami in 2006. He's a no brainer hall of famer.

  3. Ok I agree with Kemp comment. If he would have won back in 95 then he would be in HOF is was that generation's Vince Carter. LJ did have a nice career in college and with the hornets and knicks if he would have won in 99 then he would be on the fence and get in based off his college career
